People’s Financial News, March 27 - Recently, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. submitted recall plans to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.”

  1. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.
Recall number S2026M0036V: Starting from April 1, 2026, a recall of some Highlander vehicles produced from August 7, 2021, to September 22, 2025, totaling 317,990 vehicles.

  2. FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.
Recall number S2026M0037V: Starting from April 1, 2026, a recall of some Crown Kluger vehicles produced from July 27, 2021, to January 20, 2026, totaling 242,170 vehicles.

The vehicles within the recall scope have a safety hazard due to insufficient design of the second-row seat backrest adjuster, leading to excessive force from the return spring, which results in poor locking of the seat backrest. In the event of a collision, the effectiveness of occupant restraint may be compromised, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
