The Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched the “Hong Kong Mega 8” promotion campaign, focusing on eight major international arts, fashion, cultural, and sports events. It also features a variety of activities at Harbour City to engage the entire city in these events. Additionally, the Tourism Board is bringing together the city’s arts and cultural strengths, integrating cultural elements into communities to further showcase Hong Kong as the “City of Asian Events.”

As the “Hong Kong Mega 8” campaign officially kicks off, several international arts and cultural events will also be held in Hong Kong. This year, Art Basel will debut one of its most anticipated global projects, “Zero 10,” which is being brought from Miami Beach to Hong Kong for its Asian premiere. South Korean digital artist DeeKay, highly favored by global NFT collectors, will showcase his new digital animation work, “DeePle the People,” at “Zero 10.” The exhibition will run from today until the 29th of this month, with nightly projections on the exterior wall of the Hong Kong Club Building.

Lai Chee-ying, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, stated that through the “Hong Kong Mega 8” initiative, multiple world-class arts, cultural, and sports events are connected, complemented by diverse activities across districts, fully demonstrating Hong Kong’s status as the “City of Asian Events.” During this period, the Tourism Board will collaborate with Art Basel for the first time to bring digital art into communities, thanks to support from Henderson Land Development, allowing the public to enjoy world-class large-scale public art in the heart of Hong Kong. The Tourism Board also partners with industry players to develop and promote diverse tourism products, attracting visitors, enhancing their experience, and extending their stay in Hong Kong. This aims to create more business opportunities for related industries and further expand the economic benefits of event tourism.
