National Bureau of Statistics: In January-February, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 860.79 billion yuan, up 2.8% year-on-year.

National Bureau of Statistics: Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to February, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 8,607.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%, accelerating by 1.9 percentage points compared to December of the previous year.

By location of business units, urban retail sales of consumer goods totaled 7,444.9 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7%; rural retail sales of consumer goods reached 1,163.0 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2%.

By type of consumption, retail sales of goods amounted to 7,581.5 billion yuan, up 2.5%; catering revenue was 1,026.4 billion yuan, up 4.8%. Sales of basic living and some upgraded products grew rapidly.

Retail sales of clothing, shoes, hats, textiles, grain and oil food, communication equipment, and jewelry at units above designated size increased by 10.4%, 10.2%, 17.8%, and 13.0% respectively year-on-year.

On a month-on-month basis, the total retail sales of consumer goods in February increased by 0.81% compared to the previous month.

From January to February, service retail sales increased by 5.6% year-on-year, accelerating by 0.1 percentage points compared to the entire previous year. Among these, retail sales of communication information services, tourism consulting and leasing services, and cultural, sports, and leisure services grew rapidly.

From January to February, the national online retail sales of goods and services reached 3,254.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%. Of these, online retail sales of goods totaled 2,081.2 billion yuan, up 10.3%, accounting for 24.2% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; online retail sales of services reached 1,173.4 billion yuan, up 7.3%.
