Google adds new AI features to Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive - ForkLog: cryptocurrencies, AI, singularity, the future
Google has expanded the capabilities of its AI assistant Gemini across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. The tool has become more personalized and better suited for collaborative work.
Gemini in Docs
In Google Docs, the AI now better understands context and offers new features for creating text in a specified style. Users only need to describe the task in the sidebar or footer.
For example:
After generating, you can ask the AI to refine specific sections or expand on ideas. According to developers, you can edit the text in bulk — just select the desired fragment and give commands like “Make this file more professional but keep the energetic tone.”
Gemini in Sheets
In spreadsheets, AI can create structures, format information, and perform complex analysis.
Sample request:
With Gemini, you can fill in missing data in the spreadsheet. The LLM instantly generates text, classifies and summarizes data, or provides access to real-time information from Google Search.
Gemini in Slides
In the presentation service, AI can create professional layouts and fully editable diagrams from scratch.
Now, you can ask Gemini to create a new slide that matches the overall style of the project, using context from external files, emails, and the internet.
If the visual design doesn’t look quite right, AI can assist with editing it.
Gemini in Drive
The cloud storage now includes quick search and information analysis features.
When searching in Drive using natural language, the neural network provides an AI Overview — a summary of the most relevant information from files.
Another new feature is Ask Gemini in Drive. It allows asking complex questions about documents, emails, calendars, and internet data.
Recall that in February, Google released Nano Banana 2 — a new visual generation model powered by Gemini Flash.
