Abstract generation in progress

Hedge funds sold global equities at their fastest rate since April 2025, according to Goldman Sachs, with net selling reaching negative 1.4 standard deviations from typical levels in the week through Feb. 19. This intensive selling, led by short sales across North America and Europe, reflects investor doubts about the sustainability of growth-linked stock gains amidst mixed economic signals and AI disruption concerns. Financials were the most heavily sold sector, while energy, healthcare, and staples saw net buying.
