Tesla China exported 20,000 electric vehicles in February, a 4.2-fold increase year-on-year
On March 11, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed that in February, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 694,000 and 765,000 units respectively, down 21.8% and 14.2% year-on-year. The sales of new energy vehicles accounted for 42.4% of the total new car sales.
Among the top ten vehicle export companies in February, Chery exported 124,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 44.1%, accounting for 18.5% of total exports. Compared to the same period last year, Tesla (TSLA.US) had the most significant export growth, reaching 20,000 units, a 4.2-fold increase year-on-year. From January to February, among the top ten vehicle exporters, Chery exported 243,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 45.6%, accounting for 18% of total exports. Compared to the same period last year, Geely’s export growth was the most notable, reaching 156,000 units, a 1.5-fold increase year-on-year.
