Tesla's largest supercharging station in history to be built this year: over 400 V4 chargers, more than twice the size of the current largest station

IT House March 7 News, according to foreign media Teslarati today reports that Tesla is preparing to build its largest supercharger station to date.

Tesla has submitted plans in California to build a supercharger station with over 400 V4 charging stalls. The new project will expand the Eddie World supercharger station in Yermo, California, in phases. Currently, the Eddie World site has only 22 V2 and V3 chargers with a maximum charging power of 150kW. The expansion will be carried out in six phases.

The first phase will start later this year, adding 72 V4 stalls. Subsequent phases will continue to add a large number of chargers, with the final scale exceeding 400. Phases 1 through 5 will include large parking and charging areas along Calico Boulevard, while the design for phase 6 has not yet been determined.

According to IT House, the site is located along Interstate 15, on a major traffic route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, one of the busiest routes for electric vehicle traffic.

Within approximately 32 km of the area, there are over 200 high-power charging stalls, including stations with 250kW and 325kW capacities. Nearby Baker also has 96 chargers, but during holidays and peak travel times, these stations often experience queues.

Once completed, Eddie World 2 will surpass any existing Tesla supercharger station in scale. Currently, the largest is California’s Lost Hills “Project Oasis,” with 168 chargers, equipped with solar power and Megapack energy storage systems. In comparison, Eddie World 2 will be more than twice its size.

The project will not only be a charging station but also include large commercial facilities. Planning maps show that the site will feature a Cracker Barrel restaurant, McDonald’s outlets, convenience stores, other restaurants, vehicle shuttle pick-up lanes, outdoor dining areas, and commercial leasing spaces.

Additionally, the station will have facilities specifically designed for electric vehicles, including through-access parking spaces for Cybertruck and trailer vehicles, to accommodate large vehicles and future Semi electric trucks.
