🔥 Vitalik Buterin announced that Ethereum could roll out smart accounts (account abstraction) within the next year, as part of the upcoming Hegota upgrade.
In simple terms, smart accounts will turn regular Ethereum wallets into far more powerful and flexible tools by supporting:
- Multi-signature security
- Paying gas fees with any token (not just ETH) without needing intermediaries
- Sending private transactions directly
- Easily changing your key if it gets compromised
- Performing multiple actions safely in one transaction
- Stronger built-in protection, including future quantum-resistant security
