On March 1st, Honor held a global launch event on the eve of the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC2026), unveiling the all-new foldable flagship Honor Magic V6 powered by the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, as well as Honor’s first robot phone, the Honor Robot Phone, marking a new era of AI-powered smartphone experiences and innovative design.

At the event, Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Business at Qualcomm Technologies, participated and shared that Honor’s latest flagship smartphones utilize the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform. Good afternoon, everyone! I am Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Business at Qualcomm Technologies. I am delighted to be back in Barcelona to witness together the products we are bringing to consumers today and the future we are building.

A quiet revolution is happening within user devices. For years, Qualcomm Technologies has been setting industry standards by customizing hardware to make CPUs faster, GPUs more powerful, and NPUs smarter—all while maintaining excellent energy efficiency. This solid technological foundation makes new chapters in the future possible.

Today, we are partnering with Honor to fully leverage AI to unlock the potential of traditional hardware, pushing user experience to the extreme.

I am excited to share that Honor is adopting the latest fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform across its entire product lineup—including the stunning new foldable flagship, Honor Magic V6. This will also be the first mobile device to fully realize personalized experiences on the device side through Qualcomm’s sensor hub.

Users’ phones will be able to continuously learn about their favorite restaurants, fitness habits, and the most important people in their lives, storing this information privately on the device. This means the phone can provide truly personalized, real-time responses, seamlessly handling everything from notifications to app management in the background, freeing users to focus more on life.

This is the result of chips and software being designed collaboratively with the consumer experience at the center. When a phone can understand its user, our expectations become simple—regardless of ecosystem, all experiences should be effortless, natural, and smooth.

Through our collaboration with Honor, we are expanding the possibilities of Google’s “Quick Share.” With widespread interoperability between “Quick Share” and “AirDrop,” consumers will enjoy a simpler, more intuitive cross-platform transfer experience, allowing photos, files, and creative content to flow freely. This solution, developed jointly by three companies, brings the vision of a truly seamless connected ecosystem closer to reality.
