UAE Flight Resumptions, Ticket Refunds, Airport Advisories: All You Need To Know

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The UAE’s aviation sector is slowly and steadily returning to normalcy after the military conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran broke out on Saturday, as airports and airlines announced partial operations.

Thousands of UAE residents, visitors, and businesspeople await the return of scheduled flights.

Here is all you need to know about the latest details on flights and airport operations.

** Have all UAE airports resumed operations?**

Yes, all major airports resumed limited operations, with the main focus on repatriation flights. These include Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, Zayed International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport.

** Have all UAE airlines also resumed partial operations?**

Yes, local carriers have resumed partial operations, mainly to repatriate stranded passengers. These include Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia.

** Have airlines resumed scheduled flights?**

Not yet.

** When will airlines resume scheduled flights?**

It is not clear yet, as airspace remains closed for scheduled commercial flights due to the ongoing military conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran. Authorities and airlines will announce details of regular flight resumption in due course.

Etihad Airways and Air Arabia have suspended flights until Wednesday.

** Should people go to the airports who have flights in the coming days?**

No. As per instructions issued by the aviation authorities, airports, and airlines, passengers should not go to the airport unless they have confirmation of their flight from the airline.

** Are airlines prioritising some passengers?**

Emirates announced that it would prioritise customers with earlier bookings as it started a limited number of flights.

** How will passengers come to know about their flight status?**

The UAE airlines said they would contact passengers who have been rebooked on these limited flights. Therefore, only those passengers who are contacted by the airlines should proceed to the airport so that there is no congestion.

** How can UAE passengers rebook flights and claim refunds?**

Emirates said people can rebook on another flight to their intended destination for travel on or before March 20. If people booked their flights with travel agents, they need to contact them. If they booked with the airline directly, then contact the airline. Passengers can request a refund by completing the form if they booked with the airline directly. If they booked flights with travel agents, then they should contact them.

Flydubai passengers can rebook an alternative flight to the same destination up to 20 days from the original travel date, free of charge. Travellers can reach out to its Contact Centre in Dubai at (+971) 600 54 44 45, visit its travel shop, or reach out to their respective travel agent for rebooking or refund options.

Etihad Airways said guests holding tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, with original travel dates up to March 7, 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to March 18, 2026. Passengers on all Etihad flights until March 7 may request a refund through its website or through their travel agent.

Air Arabia said travellers with flights departing within the next 24 hours will be contacted directly regarding alternative options. If people booked their flight through its direct channels and the departure is within the next 24 hours, visit the airline’s website to select alternative options. Customers who booked through travel agents should contact their agents directly.

** How many passengers were supported with rebooking services?**

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said 20,200 passengers were affected by flight rescheduling and were provided temporary accommodation arrangements and facilitated rebooking services.
