1. Today’s Market Analysis and Tomorrow’s Trading Strategy
Today, the major indices opened high, fluctuated slightly lower, with the Shenzhen Component and ChiNext indices showing small gains and losses respectively. Hot topics like PCB, CPO, liquid cooling, gas turbines, and environmental protection performed relatively well, while media + AI applications, Hainan Free Trade Zone, real estate, brewing, retail, insurance, and securities weakened. Most individual stocks declined slightly, with 63 stocks hitting the daily limit, including 2 one-word limit stocks, and 27 stocks rising more than 10 cents. There were 25 stocks hitting the limit down. Four stocks hit the daily limit down, and 46 stocks fell more than 5%.
The market shows a volatile and differentiated trend, with hard technology supporting the scene and large-cap stocks adjusting the index. Since yesterday afternoon, traditional blue chips like banks and state-owned enterprises have repeatedly experienced heavy selling pressure, causing trading volume to shift from low to high. The increased volume in recent days is actually driven by invisible hands controlling the market, not active buying. To be precise, it’s volume expansion with sluggish gains, so short-term trading should be cautious. Seeing Japan, Korea, Asia-Pacific, and Western markets rising makes us envious, yet we’re still at 4,100 points, on the halfway mark of the historical high, which shows a lack of confidence. The market’s good performance is actually due to a global bull market; our modest gains are just tiny compared to others.
With the upcoming meeting window and the index just one step away from the previous high, the current index outlook is uncertain and somewhat unrealistic. The index often remains calm, but individual stocks are turbulent. Since the second half of last year, stock volatility has been unprecedented. Even behind recent index gains, many stocks jump irrationally. How to respond is more important than guessing whether prices will rise or fall.
Recently, the market has been rotating rapidly, with dozens of opportunities daily—each day different, constantly new tricks. Whether you can seize them depends on your own skills. Quantitative trading follows news triggers everywhere, but timing which sector to ignite is unpredictable. Maintaining stability depends not only on oneself but also on avoiding being pushed down by latecomers. The most intense moves often occur at night, and the most obvious fluctuations in pre-market trading can be more trap-like. Last night, institutions hyped the lithium battery sector, which opened high but turned into a trap. Every day, countless stocks open at their highest point; many stocks with good news get hammered as if it’s bad news. Stocks expected to profit from positive news may actually cause bigger losses. This ecosystem can’t be fully understood by logic alone. Quantitative analysis focuses on short-term sentiment differences—short-term logic and fast-paced trading. You might overlook a rise initially, but once everyone notices or discussions heat up, the market reverses. Recent big drops often start from hot sectors.
Yesterday’s hot sectors like cyclicals and price-increasing directions began to diverge, rotating into overseas computing power chains. Price increases are a broad concept involving dozens of varieties; predicting which branch will lead is very difficult. Computing power chains are also subdivided into many segments; after a round, only then can you identify which stocks are recognizable. As I said before, this kind of market requires immediate response, with little pre-judgment or speculation. If you can’t see the sector clearly, focus on trend-based individual stocks.
