Import market thermal coal inquiry responses are showing slight signs of stalemate

On February 24th, the inquiry performance for imported thermal coal in the market was somewhat stagnant. In the domestic market, during the Spring Festival holiday, temperatures rose in many areas, and the daily consumption of coastal power plants did not meet expectations. Additionally, some companies are still gradually resuming work and production, resulting in weak actual demand release. In the international market, Indonesia’s mining companies maintain a strong willingness to hold prices due to the dual impact of Ramadan and the rainy season. Currently, the main FOB quotes for Indonesian Q3800 Panamax ships are around $55-57 per ton, with coal prices remaining flat compared to before the holiday. Australian high-calorie Q5500 Panamax ships FOB quotes fluctuate around $88.5-89 per ton. (My Steel Network)
