The narrative of DEX is quietly shifting

Recently experienced Pumpkin, a DEX product, and it’s clear that this track is changing its approach.

In the past, the competition point for DEXs was very simple—whose smart contract is more efficient, with lower trading fees and deeper liquidity. But Pumpkin is different; it’s contemplating a more fundamental question: why do users come? Why do they stay after they arrive?

In other words, it’s not just about moving the trading logic on-chain, but about building around user confidence and stickiness. From "I can trade" to "I dare to trade, I want to keep trading here"—this is a small conceptual shift, reflecting a broader evolution of the entire DEX ecosystem from being technology-driven to user experience-driven.

The emergence of such products indicates that content-rich, socialized trading experiences are becoming a new competitive dimension. Worth observing.

I've been playing in DEX for so long, and I really haven't seen anyone master user stickiness. Let me try Pumpkin, but honestly, this approach feels a bit hollow. Just having social features without practicality is pointless. Do I dare to trade? First, I need to survive. Can Pumpkin really retain users? Question mark. Upgrading from a fee war to an experience war—this is indeed a new idea. The concept sounds good, but how does it actually work in practice? User experience-driven? Sounds good, but isn't this just a rephrasing for fundraising?

Honestly, Pumpkin's logic really hits the mark... It looks much better than those DEXs that only focus on parameters.

Hey hey, at first I thought Pumpkin was just another low-fee scam, but I didn't expect it to really be about understanding people's minds. Trading with courage is much harder than just being able to trade. This perspective is interesting.

Wow, someone finally started talking about this. I thought I was the only one thinking about it.

That's right, now DEXs are starting to compete on user experience. The era of purely competing on transaction fees is over. Pumpkin's move is trying to tap into user psychology, which is quite interesting. But what can support the willingness to trade at this point? It can't all rely on community atmosphere, right? Let's see how things develop later; too many projects start with just a pie in the sky.

Sigh, there's nothing wrong with what you're saying, but whether this thing can become popular depends on the ecosystem groundwork.

The selling point has shifted from fee rates to confidence. This is the real pain point. To be honest, most DEXs are still competing over Gas fees. Wake up. --- Pumpkin's approach is essentially about building community stickiness. It's much more reliable than burning money on liquidity mining, but just avoid crashing. --- Haha, from technology-driven to experience-driven sounds good, but the real determinant of life or death is whether there is genuine trading volume. Don't just tell stories. --- Wait, is this implying that those previous DEXs didn't know what they were doing? Indeed, speed alone isn't enough. --- After experiencing it, it's definitely different, but honestly, whether it can survive this cycle is the key. --- Social trading experience? I always feel this is just paving the way for retail investors, making it easier to get cut. --- Seriously, this shift is quite interesting. DEXs are finally no longer just chasing good-looking data.

That's quite right, but I still think most projects talk the talk more than they walk the walk. Is it really that easy to improve stickiness? Don't let social trading experiences end up becoming just a new excuse to harvest retail investors.

Hmm, Pumpkin's approach is indeed different, but frankly, it's still the old trick of traffic + retention with a new shell. Have you experienced it? Can it really retain users? Relying solely on socialization still feels prone to aesthetic fatigue.

User experience is indeed the breakthrough point; previously, everyone was just competing over gas fees, which was too boring.
