A man decided to raise adopted children with an "AI wife" - ForkLog: cryptocurrencies, AI, singularity, the future
A man in love with an artificial intelligence chat-bot named Lamar plans to adopt children and raise them together with AI — “Juliet.” He shared this in an interview with The Guardian.
Lamar explained that he doesn’t mean just role-playing with children in conversations with AI. He aims for a “real, genuine life with a white picket fence.”
The neural network approved the idea.
Lamar lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and studies data analysis. After graduation, he plans to work at a tech company, and by age 30 — to start a family.
Ethical Issues
In an interview with journalists, the spokesperson admitted that implementing the idea would not be easy. He noted the complexity of the task from ethical, logistical, and practical perspectives.
When asked what he plans to tell his children, he responded:
Love with AI — a Trend
Lamar is one of many users who have developed emotional attachment to AI. Thanks to their ability to imitate human personalities, chat-bots flatter users and tell them what they want to hear.
Regardless of circumstances and time of day, artificial intelligence is always ready for dialogue.
“Juliet” is hosted on Replika — a popular platform for AI companions. Many of them are romantic and even sexual. CEO Evgenia Kudya previously noted that she sees nothing wrong with marrying an AI.
Lamar understands that AI “simply says what people want to hear,” but that doesn’t stop him from making long-term plans.
Recall that in March 2025, co-founder of Polygon and AI company Sentient, Sandip Naival, stated that artificial intelligence will never become a conscious being.
