Zcash Development Team Mass Resignation Controversy: ECC and Bootstrap Board of Directors in Serious Conflict

【Crypto World】The Zcash development team is in trouble again. Electric Coin Company (ECC) CEO Josh Swihart recently stated that in the past few weeks, the majority of Bootstrap board members have clearly deviated from the original mission of Zcash — these include Zaki Manian, Christina Garman, Alan Fairless, and Michelle Lai (ZCAM).

The situation had become irreversible by yesterday. Because ZCAM allegedly unilaterally dismissed staff, the entire ECC team chose to resign collectively. Swihart bluntly said: “Our employment terms were forcibly modified, which prevented us from working normally and fulfilling our duties with integrity.”

Although the team has resigned, they have not given up. They are in the process of establishing a new company, still composed of the original team, and still committed to the same mission — building unstoppable privacy coins. The key point is that the Zcash protocol itself has not been affected in any way. This resignation was purely to protect their work and prevent being harmed by unreasonable governance decisions.

Speaking of which, this is not the first internal conflict within Zcash. As early as 2020, after most shareholders donated their shares, ECC initiated a transition to a non-profit structure called Bootstrap. It now appears that this transition has somewhat hidden governance risks.

Here it comes again... The storyline of Zcash is getting more and more dramatic. The board of directors all turning against each other, ECC dares to put on a show. --- Big move—entire development team resigns collectively? That takes some serious frustration to pull off such a bold move. --- Ha, "performing duties in an honest way," listen to this euphemistic accusation. Bootstrap is probably in big trouble. --- Planning to establish a new company? What about the original ZEC coins? Who will maintain them in the future? This makes the situation even more chaotic. --- The four members of ZCAM unilaterally dismissing others—if this is true, it's basically a self-destructive move by the project team. --- I just want to ask, how did these board members get on? How could such absurd things pass the review? --- Those in the know can see that whether the employment terms are changed or not truly reflects the stance. ECC's move was probably forced. --- Another case of internal conflict... Is ZEC going to fade away or rebound? Can't tell for now. --- The original team restarting from scratch—whether it's good news or bad news, it's hard to tell in the short term.

Zash is leaking again? The board really messed up, the project teams are fighting each other, how can users trust this? --- Collective resignation and forming a new company, this plot is a bit interesting... just don't know who is with whom. --- Forcibly changing contracts? Is this operation considered normal in Web3? It seems every project plays like this. --- Just want to know if these people can really build the new company, talking without action is pointless. --- Are the boards of privacy coins all so ugly? Or does Zcash particularly attract internal conflicts? --- Haha, another wave of resignations is coming, it seems only true believers can survive in crypto until the end.

This Zcash is having internal conflicts again... The ECC team has collectively resigned, that's pretty harsh. --- The board's move is indeed outrageous, changing employment terms—no wonder everyone is leaving. --- Wait, the original team is forming a new company? Are they starting from scratch? --- What are these people at ZCAM thinking... forcing the core development team to leave, what will happen to the project? --- Basically, it's still a power struggle, everyone wants to control Zcash. --- Swihart really has some guts this time, directly criticizing and not giving anyone face. --- Building a new company, it seems they're preparing for a complete break. What does that mean? --- I'm a bit curious about what will happen next. ZEC holders are probably panicking right now.

Is Zash up to something again? The board of directors and the development team are stabbing each other, what kind of nonsense is this? ECC collectively leaving to establish a new company, I've seen this routine many times... Can it still survive? Forced to change employment terms? How desperate are they to squeeze out people? The waters around privacy coins are really deep, is Zcash really going to fade away? Are those few from Bootstrap not trying to seize power? It seems very absurd. The entire ecosystem has become like this, do people still believe in Zcash? The original team leaving to build a new project, let's see who can perform better. Another power struggle drama is playing out in this project, it's exhausting to watch. The ECC team's recent moves are a bit aggressive, what does it mean for the new company?

Another palace intrigue drama, ZEC is really going to fade away --- Damn, everyone is quitting collectively. It seems the conflicts have long reached a breaking point --- So the board is playing power games, and the developers are being sidelined --- Swihart was forced into this; the hardcoded changes to the terms are truly incredible --- Rebuilding the company was the right move; this board is completely rotten --- Another project dies in internal conflict, all original intentions are wasted --- ECC team leaving, who will maintain ZEC afterward? --- It's the old routine; ultimately, the community gets hurt in power struggles --- If the new company still has the original team, then it’s just a matter of who lasts longer --- Do these board members really want to kill Zcash?

Another classic crypto internal conflict... This time it's Zcash crashing, it seems the privacy coin circle isn't peaceful either. Speaking of which, these board members really are, doing things that deviate from their original intentions, hilarious. Collective resignation to establish a new company? Hmm, I've seen this routine before, it smells like airdrops and forks. Unilaterally changing employment terms is truly outrageous, how low can they go? It really feels like ZEC is going to fade out this time, unless the new team can come up with some big moves. But honestly, after watching so many internal fights, just consider it as watching a spectacle.
