Tickers. These short letter codes have become the hallmark of crypto projects. They first appeared in the 19th century to speed up trading. Today, they are indispensable. BTC, ETH, SOL — sounds familiar, right? 🪙
The crypto world is a bit chaotic. You can often encounter different projects with the same ticker here. Sometimes it's a coincidence. And sometimes... not quite. It seems that by September 2025 there are already more than 30 thousand cryptocurrencies. And new ones appear every week. Traders need to somehow navigate this chaos. 🔍
Checking token authenticity 🛡️
1. Contract address
This is a key. A unique identifier on the blockchain. For Ethereum and BNB Chain tokens, it starts with "0x". It can be checked through blockchain explorers. Simple. Reliable. 📝
Funny, but BTC and ETH do not have contracts in their native networks at all. They are the network itself.
