Saudi Arabia Breaking With Tradition: Alcohol Coming in 2026 🍺🍷

Abstract generation in progress

Saudi Arabia is about to end its 73-year alcohol ban. Kind of surprising, right? Starting in 2026, they'll allow some drinking. Big change.

This shift isn't random. The Kingdom wants to shine while hosting Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034. They're getting ready for the world stage.

About 600 places will get permission to sell alcohol 🌆. Mostly hotels and tourist spots. Not everywhere. Just beer, wine, and cider - no hard stuff. The stronger drinks? Still off-limits 🔒.

Rules will be strict 📜. No drinking at home. Nothing sold in regular stores. Home brewing? Absolutely forbidden. Only trained staff at special places can serve it.

Since 1952, Saudi Arabia said no to all alcohol. Complete ban. Now they're rethinking things. Tourism matters. They want visitors to come, stay, enjoy themselves.

Vision 2030 drives this. Moving beyond oil. Opening up more. The traditional values aren't gone - they're just making room for something new in certain places.

It seems the Kingdom is finding its way between tradition and global expectations. Not a complete transformation. Just a careful step in a new direction.
