Mining on the phone: my disappointments and harsh reality
I searched for a long time for a way to earn money with crypto without expensive equipment. And then - like manna from heaven - mobile mining apps! I installed them, launched them, and the money started flowing? Not so fast!
Here is what I discovered in my endless experiments with phone mining.
CryptoTab was the first to catch my eye. Beautiful promises, the interface shines, but after a week of use my battery gave out before I saw any significant income. And their referral system? Just a way to make me spam my friends so they also spend the resources of their phones.
Various platforms offer so-called "cloud mining" - it sounds technological, but essentially you are just renting someone else's power and praying that it isn't a pyramid scheme. I have tried several of these, including StormGain. Yes, the interface is convenient, but who likes restarting the app every 4 hours? Do I not need to sleep?
NiceHash looked more professional at first glance with its profitability calculator. But it's astonishing how the actual figures always turned out to be lower than expected! And their "high security" is laughable when you remember their history with hacks.
Bitdeer and its "professional" tariffs? This is for those who are already ready to invest real money, not for those who want to earn from scratch.
The funniest thing is the phrases about mining one bitcoin in "just" 10 minutes. On a phone? Seriously? Maybe in a thousand years, and only if you're lucky!
The truth is that the performance of any phone is catastrophically low for real mining. In comparison, professional setups consume as much energy as a small town, while my phone can't even last an hour without recharging during active mining.
I look at things soberly - phone mining in 2024 is either a scam or microscopic payouts that are not worth the effort and wear on the device. And most of these "miners" just show ads and create the illusion that you are earning something.
Do you really want to make money in crypto? It's better to study trading or staking - at least there are some real chances there.
