Trump promises to pursue peace between Russia and Ukraine: they "are not ready yet," but "something will happen."
On September 4, Jin10 reported that Trump stated on Wednesday that despite the increasingly uncertain prospects for face-to-face talks between Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky, he remains committed to seeking a peace protocol between Russia and Ukraine. Trump said his position is both realistic and optimistic, adding that he is closely following how the leaders of the two countries are handling this crossroads in negotiations. Trump stated, "I have been following it, I have been watching it, I have been talking to Putin and Zelensky about it. Although they are not ready yet. But something will happen. We will get it done." Trump also expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation but will continue to push for a peace protocol.
