Movement Airdrop Revelation: Reevaluating Project Selection Strategies

Unexpected Gains: A Review of a Missed Airdrop Opportunity

After witnessing numerous stories of sudden wealth, I never anticipated that Movement would become such a significant Airdrop event. Although I completely missed this opportunity, looking back, I might still not have participated.

I once developed a strategy for participating in Airdrops:

  1. Avoid testnet projects: Projects in the testing phase usually have lower returns than those after the mainnet launch.

  2. Avoid complex tasks: Tedious task systems often discourage user enthusiasm, and the final airdrop results are often unrelated to the tasks completed.

  3. Focus on leading projects: In a highly competitive field, the airdrop value potential of non-leading projects is relatively limited.

Let's analyze Movement using this strategy:

First of all, Movement is still in the testnet stage. Based on historical experience, the probability of testnet projects bringing substantial returns is quite low. Most projects tend to conduct large-scale token distribution only when they go live on the mainnet or are close to official release.

Secondly, the task settings of Movement are overly complicated, giving the impression of excessively guiding users. Based on past successful cases, which major airdrop project has such complex rules? This goes against the principle of simplicity and efficiency.

Finally, among numerous public chain projects, Movement is not particularly outstanding. The Move series public chains already have representatives like Sui and Aptos. According to the principle of focusing only on the top projects in the field, the likelihood of lower-ranked projects receiving significant Airdrops is low.

In summary, Movement, as a testnet project with a complex task system and not a leading project in the field, is unlikely to pique my interest.

Nevertheless, I still missed this wealth opportunity, which indicates that there is still room for improvement in my strategy.

So, does that mean I need to adjust my Airdrop participation strategy? I think this time the Movement Airdrop is more like a special case, and the probability of this situation occurring is not high.

Considering the limitations of personal time and energy, trying to participate in all projects' Airdrops may lead to diminishing returns with such a broad-net strategy.

What I need to adjust is to maintain a certain sensitivity towards projects with strong investment backgrounds and consider participating with a small number of high-quality accounts.

This way, you won't regret missing out when a real significant opportunity arises.

Participating in an airdrop also requires considering emotional value; finding a balance point can better grasp the opportunity.
