Canadian police have confirmed the death of 25-year-old Kevin Mirshahi, an industry professional in the encryption sector who was previously kidnapped and missing.
Odaily Planet Daily News According to local media reports, Canadian law enforcement authorities have confirmed that the body found in a park in Montreal belongs to 25-year-old Crypto Assets industry professional Kevin Mirshahi. Mirshahi has been suspected of death at least since August of this year, and it was not until now that the police found and confirmed his body. Mirshahi, along with three others, was kidnapped at the end of June in an apartment building in Old Montreal. The others returned unharmed the next day, but Mirshahi remained missing. It wasn't until October 30th that a passerby discovered his body in Montreal's Île-de-la-Visitation Park. Mirshahi owns and operates an investment firm called Crypto Paradise Island. In 2021, the Quebec financial investment regulator, Autorité des marchés financiers, launched an investigation into the company. On July 4, 2024, the regulator prohibited Mirshahi, his company, and two related individuals from engaging in brokerage or investment advisory activities and securities trading, and ordered them to delete their social media posts. In August, the police arrested a 32-year-old woman who is suspected of being involved in the kidnapping and causing the death of Mirshahi. She is now facing charges of first-degree murder, etc. (The Block)
