Bitcoin remains above the 100,000 USD mark but has fallen from its record high. This week, four wallets from 2011 unexpectedly became active, transferring 221.99 BTC ( worth over 23 million USD) for the first time in nearly 14 years. The transactions occurred from block 898916 to 898965, with 64 BTC, 68 BTC, 60 BTC, and 29.99 BTC being transferred respectively.
All of this BTC was eventually sent to the wallet ‘1AdsC,’ which currently holds 279.96 BTC worth 29.3 million USD. These wallets received BTC from July to August 2011, when the price was only 6.55-11.65 USD/coin, with an initial total value of just 2,586 USD—increasing nearly 889,325%.
Earlier in May, other wallets from 2011 also transferred 40,673 BTC, bringing the total BTC from long-dormant wallets activated this month to 262,663 BTC.
